Values:

The United Faith Community Church was a union of three separate churches, each having a rich heritage in the town of Valley. The Baptist Church was organized in May of 1878 in the railroad section house at Mercer. The church was incorporated in 1891 under the name of the Scandinavian Baptist Church of Valley. In 1892, a small band of members moved into the town of Valley and established a church. The two groups reunited in town in 1917. The present building was constructed in 1918. The Methodist Church was organized by a group of railroad workers in 1869 under the Methodist Episcopal faith. In 1887, a church building was erected in the downtown Valley. The church moved from this building in 1969 to the church on Alexander Street (which had been the home to both the Presbyterian Church and St. Mark's Lutheran Church) where it operated independently until April of 2004. The First Presbyterian Church of Valley was organized in 1891 and the church building was built in 1891. Times were difficult for all the churches in the depression era and during the 1930's, talks were held to discuss the uniting of all three Protestant churches in town. These talks culminated in the federation of the Baptist and Presbyterian churches in 1941. These two churches operated as the Baptist-Presbyterian Church until the formal mergers of all three churches in March of 2005. Together, the three churches represented 377 years of combined ministry at that time. We truly have a rich heritage in the past, yet we look forward to serving Christ in the future as United Faith Community Church.
Currently, we are affiliated with American Baptist Churches - USA.
